On Wednesday morning, a devastating incident took place on Highway 57 in the Hermanas-Sabinas area, specifically at kilometer 68. A bus marked with the number 9132, which was en route from Ciudad Acuña to Gómez Palacio, Durango, overturned, resulting in at least one fatality and multiple injuries.
The bus driver, known as Alfonso Nava, passed away at the site of the accident. Emergency response teams, comprising the Monclova Urban Rescue Group, the Sabinas Red Cross, and the Escobedo Fire Department, promptly mobilized to address the emergency and convey the injured individuals to multiple hospitals.
Among those injured is a minor named Jairo, who was transported in critical condition to Clinic 7 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) located in Monclova. Additionally, at least five other individuals are reported to have sustained injuries. Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the accident, while the families of the victims are waiting for more information.
The vehicle was found on its roof after crashing into a light fixture and a concrete base. This incident took place at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, when it was reported that the vehicle had rolled over on the Gómez Palacio-Cuencamé Highway close to Raymundo Park in the city of Lerdo, Durango.
Municipal Police and Traffic Police personnel arrived at the location and discovered the vehicle unaccompanied by any driver or passengers. Authorities reported that the driver was exceeding the speed limit. The expert team from the Traffic and Road Safety Department compiled the report.
